Communication Program Students’ entries upholding good values were recognized at the 39th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) last October 25, 2017 at Star Theater, Pasay City.

Brent Joneil Maniclang bagged a special citation award for his Public Service TV Ad “Hapagkainan”. The said Ad reminds the audience that talking with family and friends over meals is more important and effective in building stronger relationships instead of today’s new norm of using mobile phones while eating.

Five more entries also qualified as finalists in other categories: Francheska Gonzales’ Lolo Musikero for Best Student TV Production and her Remain Silent for Best Student Public Service TV Ad; Sandra Nicole Fajardo’s Palaruan sa Laot for Best TV Production and her Public Service Radio Ad, Little Teacher; and Nicole Anne Ureta’s Directions for Best Public Service Radio Ad.

CMMA’s Awards night with a theme “Fear Not For I am with You (Isaiah 43:4) Communicating Hope and Trust in Our Time” marked the 39th year of the award-giving body established by the late Jaime Cardinal Sin in 1978.
