The Angelicum College Alumni Association (ACAA)—with the support of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, and Mentos—revives school and batch pride with the opening of the first season of the Angelicum Alumni Basketball League (AABL) last August 27, 2011 at the Angelicum College Gym.

Twenty four teams have come to represent their respective batches in this battle of skill, wit, and power.

In attendance were members of the school administration and alumni fans and their families ready to support the teams. Angelicum College Rector Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Bautista blessed the games by leading the opening prayer, while ACAA Managing Director Maria Angelica Grace Cabantac welcomed all athletes to the first season of the games.

The Oath of Sportsmanship was led by D’Vintage (batch 1979-1983) team captain and Air21 coach Bong Ramos. Meanwhile, Rev. Fr. Jesus Miranda, Jr., O.P., the school's vice rector and the director for Financial Affairs, officially opened the games.

The ACAA hopes the league brings back the competitiveness and spirit of camaraderie in the Angelicum alumni.

"It's our chance to bring everyone home," says ACAA President Johun Santos. "There's nothing like a good game of basketball to get people excited."
