ILOILO CITY, Philippines – Angelicum School Iloilo emerged as a formidable force in the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Regatta Writeworks 2023, garnering accolades and recognition for its performance. Going head-to-head with institutions such as the Philippine Science High School – Western Visayas Campus and Central Philippine University, Angelicum School Iloilo proved its mettle and secured the title as the 2nd Best Performing School. The achievements of Angelicum School Iloilo at the JCI Regatta Writeworks 2023 spanned various categories, showcasing the diverse talents of its participants. In the News Writing (English Category), elementary learners Alexa Jaci Bataan and Carl Alexis Garcia were awarded as runners-up, earning praise for their journalistic skills. In the Editorial Cartooning (English Category), Xena Marie Corpus clinched the 2nd place, while Emmi Aishite Demamay emerged as the champion, illustrating their creativity and artistic prowess. Angelicus Moderator, Orlando M. Gamilla Jr. was hailed as the Champion in the News Writing (English Category) and the Editorial Writing (English Category) for the elementary publication advisers. Further adding to their accolades, Gamilla also secured the 3rd place in the Editorial Writing (English Category) and the championship in the News Writing (English Category) among secondary level publication advisers. The JCI Regatta Writeworks 2023, in partnership with the Department of Education and Silak Media of West Visayas State University – College of Education, provided a platform for students and educators to showcase their talents, fostering a spirit of healthy competition and encouraging excellence in the field of journalism.
