TWO TOP officials of Angelicum School Iloilo’s student council and publication passed the screening for officers of the Boys and Girls Week 2022 spearheaded by the Rotary Club of Iloilo.
Anne Josephine Españo, Angelicum Supreme Student Council (ASSC) vice president; and Kiera Garcia, Angelicus associate editor, were chosen as city councilor and city planning and development officer respectively.
“Throughout the screening process, all I could think about was how I could make the school proud, and I’m glad it all worked out. I am honored to be representing the school at events like this. I’m hoping that the Boys & Girls Week Celebration will allow me to grow as a learner, which will benefit me in the future. I’d like to thank my classmates, teachers, and family members for their help with this celebration. I will do my best to carry out the duties and responsibilities that have been assigned to me,” said Garcia.
Moreover, the elected student leaders will be acting as counterparts of city officials, thereby giving them the opportunity to further bolster their leadership skills.
“I am quite nervous, knowing the many roles & responsibilities a councilor has, but I am also excited because I know this is going to be a great experience for me. I am looking forward to the sessions and the experiences that will turn into life lessons. Elevarse, Angelicum,” said Españo who also serves as an editorial assistant of Angelicus, the school’s official publication.
Españo and Garcia, both from YS11 – St. Dominic De Guzman, went through a screening process along with representatives from various private and public schools in the Division of Iloilo City.
